Devil's Dyke - Amberley walkthrough (taken Jan 2010) Crossing Fulking Hill

Ascending Truleigh Hill

Passing the YHA entrance on Truleigh Hill

Beeding Hill

Don't follow teh road when it bends left - go straight over and through the gate down the hill

Crossing the A283 - turn left and cross over to layby when safe

Water Tap by A283 - in corner of footpath alongside the road, before it turns right to cross the river

To bridge over the Adur

Use the footpath alongside the road

Short section on the road

Leaving the road - careful of the blind bend

Annington Hill

Steyning Bowl dips to the right

CHECKPOINT 3 - Washington Car Park

Crossing the A24 If preferred, there is an alternative (longer) route via Washington village avoiding the crossing

Turn right after crossing the A24

Water Tap - the road from the A24 bends left, the tap is then a little further up on the left

High Titten, Amberley

Diversion to halfway checkpoint. Turn left, ignoring the SDW signs to turn right. This will be signposted for the race. Come back this way after the checkpoint
